In the course of battle, your systems may be damaged or destroyed, and your officers may be killed. Repairs will occur on the equipment, and this report will keep you informed. Replacements of the officers will be found in time, but they will be in training. Docking with a star base will repair your equipment, and provide you with replacement officers. If you have enhanced equipment, a trainee can run it better. Likewise an expert can run damaged equipment.
